0.4.3 is much better at the start, yet the battlebugs/mechanics up above kept me from playing through a complete game. On a 1440x1050 resolution, or 1368x768, the zoomed browsing is no fun in there.Ī) Where is the combat system documented at all ?ī) The combat report is hard to find out about.Ġ.4.2 was not really a challenge on aggressive. The current system just robs the fun of it.Ī) In 0.4.2 I could navigate along the path of a "desired" tech by clicking on the "requires 6 unlocks" screen, that does not seem to work anymore.ī) The fonts scale really bad and look very rough. Suggestion: Go back to the drawboard and check on how combat is resolved in AD&D or other roleplay games - those played with dice, pencil and paper.
After 4! turns, (not rounds, turns), 2 of the astroidships are dead, after each round telling me "astro1 was damaged, astro2 was damaged, astro3 was damaged" - without a single shot beeing launched against the organic fighters. Bottom line - its weird.Įxample : 3 Heavy-Astroid Fighters with 84 attackdamage total + armor & 4pt-shields enter a system with two organic fighters of 36 attackdamage total. It seems to work kindof, as expected, but at some point in game, it turned strange, odds of 1,5:1 or 2:1 still beeing wiped out without causing any serious damage at all. Is there a helpful logtrace I can provide or use to help debug this ? This is way worse than 0.4.2 was, where anything under 120 systems still was playable till the end. Tip for newbies : "Decoys" are very valuable, but "old" ships inbetween new ships suckĪfter round 80 or so, it started to lag - a turn taking about 5-10 seconds with the gui freezing inbetween. Tough setting, but I got to Round 150 before I resigned due to certain issues. Starting the standard-Quickstart scenario with ~60 systems looked good. Solution: Install into userdirectory somewhere
Installation does work in "progam files", but creates hidden folders and does not create icons to start -> game is not playable, cant be found via Windows Explorer (Only via Q-Dir or Install-Browsedir-Dialog) can not be started. 2,5 GHz Dualcore, 4 GB Ram, Lenovo T420, User with Adminrights
